Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost to attend the Downtown Trick-or-Treat event?

The main event is free to attend, and there are no costs associated with participating in the trick-or-treat activities.

Is this event only for families and children?

Not at all! While we have plenty of activities for kids, we also offer fun for all ages.

What is the Teal Pumpkin Project, and how does it work during the event?

The Teal Pumpkin Project is an initiative to support children with food allergies by offering non-food treats during trick-or-treating. At our event, businesses participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project will display a teal pumpkin or sign to indicate they provide non-food treats like small toys or stickers. This helps ensure that all children, including those with allergies, can enjoy a safe and inclusive trick-or-treating experience.

What activities can we expect?

There will be a variety of activities, including trick-or-treating at participating downtown businesses and a costume contest. Check back soon for a detailed list of activities and their timings.

Will there be alcohol?

Alcohol is not permitted at the main event area due to city code (Ord. 07-18 §2, 2007), however many of our downtown businesses offer adult beverages.

Can we bring outside food or beverages?

Outside food and beverages are not permitted. However, there will be plenty of food and drink options available at local businesses participating in the event.

What should we bring to the event?

Feel free to bring your costume, a reusable trick-or-treat bag, and a valid ID if you’re participating in the pub crawl. We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking.

Are pets allowed to attend the event?

Businesses downtown have individual policies regarding pets, so we recommend leaving your pets at home for this trick-or-treat event. However, if you choose to bring your well-behaved dog, please keep them on a leash and under control while walking around. Be aware that while some businesses may allow pets inside, others may not, so it’s a good idea to check each business’s policy. Please be considerate of others, as any issues with pets may result in you and your dog being asked to leave the event.

How can I get involved or volunteer for the event?

We’d love to have you join us as a volunteer! If you’re interested, please send us a message on social or email info@downtownpullman.org!
