DPA Board Member Recruitment

Interested in joining a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future of Downtown Pullman? We are currently recruiting new individual to join the Downtown Pullman Association Board of Directors! Our monthly meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month from 3 – 5 pm.  

How to apply

  • Please read the 2025 Board of Directors Roles & Responsibilities document located in  this packet.  
  • Submit your application online by Tuesday, April 8 at 5 p.m. 
  • Applicant information will be shared with DPA membership via email on Wednesday, April 9. 
  • The election of new Board members will occur at the Annual Meeting on Friday, April 18, using paper ballots. Members running for a board seat must attend this meeting. 
  • Election results will be announced via email during the week of April 21.

Who can apply

Class A Voting Members: These are individuals, businesses, property owners, or organizations  located within Downtown Pullman.

Class C (At-Large Community) Members: At-Large Community Members can be any individual,  business or property owner, or other legal entity (public, private, or governmental), interested in advancing the mission of the Downtown Pullman Association.

Board of Directors Responsibilities

Term Length: Directors are appointed for three-year terms, with a maximum service length of two consecutive terms. Directors who term out may be reconsidered for board positions one year after their original term expires.  

Responsibilities: Collectively, the Board of Directors assumes legal, fiduciary, and philosophical responsibility and establishes policy for all activities of the Downtown Pullman Association (DPA). Board members provide leadership for the organization, raise operating and capital funds, participate in committee/task force assignments, and serve as advocates of downtown  revitalization. Board members represent the larger view of why downtown revitalization is crucial for our entire community. 

Board members should demonstrate interest in the DPA’s purpose and goals, and have specific experience in or knowledge of administration, finance, program development, advertising, public relations, downtown business activity, communications, design, partnership development, or economic development. The DPA Board is a working Board, and each Board member should be willing to commit 4 – 10 hours per month.
